Professional profile:
Jonathan Boyle qualified from the University of Leicester in 1991 and trained as a specialist vascular surgeon in Leicester, Portsmouth, Southampton and at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, Australia. He was appointed Consultant in Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge and the West Suffolk Hospital Bury St Edmunds in 2002. He is an Associate Lecturer to the University of Cambridge.

He has an extensive experience in minimally invasive varicose vein surgery, including radiofrequency ablation, endovenous laser and foam sclerotherapy. He performed his first VNUS Closure procedure in 2003 and was one of the first UK surgeons to use the new VNUS fast catheter in 2007. His practice includes all aspects of venous and arterial disease and he was one of the pioneers of endovascular aortic aneurysm repair in the UK and has published extensively on this subject.

Mr Boyle is an active member of he Vascular Society of Great Britain and Ireland, the European Society of Vascular Surgery, the Society of Academic and Research Surgeons and the International Society for Vascular Surgery. In addition to his research interests he is committed to training future surgeons and is currently the Programme Director for Core Surgical Training in the East of England.
